Kingston, ON, May 18, 2021 - Launch Lab CEO and SOAN Chairman Scott Runté today announced the appointment of Mike Amos to the position of Interim Managing Director of SOAN. Mike will be replacing founding CEO John Molloy, who retired on March 31st, 2021 after serving as SOAN Managing Director since the network’s inception six years ago.
“We’re excited to have Mike, a current Launch Lab Entrepreneur in Residence, as SOAN’s new Interim Managing Director,” said Scott Runté. “Mike’s diverse expertise and professional insights will enhance SOAN initiatives which will in turn provide greater opportunity to Eastern Ontario entrepreneurs looking for potential investment from a roaster of impressive angel investors.”
Mike will add SOAN to his current activities which include splitting his time between investing in and advising startups. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build off the tremendous work that John Molloy fostered through his vision in creating and building a leading angel network across Eastern Ontario,” said Mike Amos. “As well, I am honored to have the opportunity to continue the tradition of bringing together angel investors and entrepreneurs from across Eastern Ontario in an effort to provide startups with the resources they need to both grow and scale.”
Prior to his current engagements, Mike founded venture-backed software company empathica that raised $16m in capital, grew to 180 employees in 3 countries, and successfully exited through a sale to InMoment, a US competitor.
